Jennie S. Moriconi, 92, Northern Cambria, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona with her family by her side.
She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late John and Cecelia (Galant) Slowik.
Surviving are four children: Patricia A. Edmiston and husband, Henry, of Northern Cambria, Carol L. Pizur and husband, Martin, of Grand Island, N.Y., Bruce A. Moriconi and wife, Jill (Regester), and Brian F. Moriconi and wife, Cynthia (Baker), both of Northern Cambria; 10 grandchildren: James Edmiston, Connie (Scott) Messina, Matthew (Adrienne) Edmiston, Martin (Erin) Pizur, Robert (Lisa) Pizur, Leanne (Tommy) Ortolano, Brock and Braden Moriconi, Nicholas and Allison Moriconi; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Veronica (Ralph) Meilnik of Hollidaysburg; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Macaluso of Hollidaysburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruno J. Moriconi, who died on Jan. 1, 1977; an infant sister, Stella; a sister, Connie Macaluso; and a brother, Daniel Slowik.
Jennie was a former owner/operator of Bruno & Jennie’s Rainbow Hotel, Barnesboro. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Northern Cambria.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at Prince of Peace Church, Northern Cambria, Father Donald Dusza celebrant. Interment will be at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Altoona.
