Eva M. “Gram” Duncan, 85, Altoona, passed away Friday at her residence, surrounded by family.

She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Leo and Eva (Flaherty) MacCourtney. On Sept. 5, 1953, she married Francis W. “Joe” Duncan in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2009.

Surviving are four sons: Kevin, Paul, James and David Duncan; two daughters: Aileen Duncan and Rebecca Proctor; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Aileen (MacCourtney) Krosse.

She was preceded in death by a twin brother, Leo MacCourtney.

Eva was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School, and she retired from Phone Power.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona. A world traveler, Gram also enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling and swimming.

Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at St. Mary’s Memorial Hall, 1420 Fourth Ave., Altoona, Monsignor Timothy P. Stein celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Eva’s memory be made to Family Hospice with Home Nursing Agency, 201 Chestnut Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
