James Edmond ‘Jim’ McCall
March 10, 1951 - July 18, 2017
James Edmond “Jim” McCall, 66, Four Oaks, N.C., formerly of rural Williamsburg, passed away Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, N.C.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Chalmer Eugene and Thelma R. (Pheasant) McCall.
Surviving are two daughters: Ruth Anna (Paul J.) Evans of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Carrie Elizabeth (Lance) Sutton of Four Oaks, N.C.; two sons: Matthew James (Jennifer) McCall of Indianapolis, Ind., and Joshua David (Dawn) McCall of Augusta, Ga.; seven grandchildren: Alexis, Matthew Thomas, Hannah, Olivia, Titus, Layla and Naomi; the mother of his children, Karen Jean McCall; four brothers: Don (Bonnie) McCall, Dan (Kathi) McCall, John McCall and Dave (Lori) McCall; two sisters: Linda (Kerry) Walker and Sue (Gary) Herrick; a sister-in-law, Cheryl McCall; two stepsons: Dennis and Lewis Carter; and the mother of his stepsons, Emma Jeanette McCall.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bob” McCall.
Jim was a 1970 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg. From 1971-93, he served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he spent time in Thailand and Korea. In 1993, he retired from active duty from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., attaining the rank of master sergeant.
Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. until the
1 p.m. funeral service Friday, July 28, 2017, at Williamsburg Independent Bible Baptist Church, Pastors Don McCall and Joseph Weber officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held at Shellytown-Fairview Cemetery, rural Williamsburg. Local arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
