Le Etta C. Beatty

Le Etta C. Beatty, 88, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday morning at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Lloyd and Sarah (Snyder) Parsons. On
Dec. 31, 1954, she married Lester G. Beatty in Hollidaysburg, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1987.
Surviving are two sons: Leslie A. (Lisa) of Hollidaysburg and Brian E. of Roaring Spring; a daughter, Barbara J. (Randy) Heverly of Hollidaysburg; nine grandchildren: Donald (Missy) Heverly, Misty (Josh) Deffibaugh, Scott Biddle, Nicole Beatty, Tyler Beatty, Kathy (Jason) Yellets, Ronald Pentz, Charles (Syreeta) Morris and Dustin (Sarah) Mowery; and many great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Le Etta was a 1946 graduate of Altoona High School. She had worked at A&P Warehouse, Altoona, and the deli at Riverside Market, Hollidaysburg, and was known as “the Deli Lady.”
She was a member of Williamsburg American Legion. She enjoyed dancing, bingo, puzzles, watching daytime soap operas, NCIS, CSI, Jeopardy, the Big Bang Theory, CBS Sunday Morning News, 48 Hours and Saturday Night music programs. When traveling with her son, Leslie, to his music venues, she was known as “the Band Mother.”
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, the Rev. Dennis Braun officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
