Miriam Mae ‘Teener’ Brumbaugh

Miriam Mae “Teener” Brumbaugh, 93, passed away peacefully Sunday at her residence.

She was born in Portage. On June 17, 1943, she married D. Robert Brumbaugh.

Surviving are two sons: Alan Brumbaugh (Judy) and Bill Brumbaugh (Donna); two daughters: Cathy Inglis (Jim) and Dianne Brumbaugh Ahart (Mark); six grandchildren: Lisa Brumbaugh Nale, Jill Brumbaugh, Wendy Brumbaugh Wertz (Ben), Heather Brumbaugh, Eric Brumbaugh (Yerling) and Daniel Needham Ahart; eight great-grandchildren: Chad Iachini (Lindsay), Monica Iachini, Kala Brumbaugh, Blaine Wertz and Samuel, Daniel, Haddasah and Abigail Brumbaugh; a great-great-grandchild, Gia Iachini; and several stepchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; two brothers: Salty and Wayne; and her parents.

Miriam lived in East Freedom for more than 80 years. In 2005, she moved to Loveland, Colo., to be near family. She was a wonderful mother, wife and companion to many people who were fortunate to meet her. She loved gardening, reading and cowboy movies. Above all, she will be remembered for her loving spirit, her kindness and her compassion.

The world was more effervescent with her in it.

A private celebration of life will take place at her home for family, friends and neighbors.
