Beulah E. Grove

Beulah E. Grove, 95, Williamsburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at The Village at Morrisons Cove.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Neff R. and Mary B. (Tennis) Clabaugh. On April 7, 1943, she married her high school sweetheart, Paul W. Grove, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2010.

Surviving are two sons: Wayne P. (Norma) and Stanley R. (LouAnn), all of the Williamsburg area; five grandchildren: Kenneth Grove, Brenda Crouch, Dr. Trina Abla, Dr. Trisha Myers and Lisa Brumbaugh; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: John and Jim Clabaugh; and a daughter-in-law, Pauline Grove.

Beulah attended the Eight Square School and was a 1940 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She was an active and faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, and a former member of Williamsburg Order of Eastern Star and Lutheran Church Women.

She was an avid baker for the public and was well known as the lady who baked “their wedding or birthday cake.” She was also a very good seamstress, providing mending and alterations, and she also helped various families with child care.

She enjoyed canning food for her family and, in her retirement years, painted many oil paintings under the direction of the late William Cramer.

Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating. Interment will be held at the Williamsburg Lutheran Cemetery.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be given to Williamsburg Ambulance Club, Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, or a local charity of one’s choice.
