Shirley H. (Grimm) Holland

Shirley H. Holland, 89, Claysburg, formerly of Duncansville, peacefully passed away at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of William E. and Pearl (Dodson) Grimm. She married Louis E. Holland on Easter Sunday, April 21, 1946, and celebrated 68 years together before he preceded her in death.
Shirley is survived by her three sons: Rick E. and wife, Gretchen, Stephen G. and Jeffery L. and significant other, Jamie McLoota; six grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and her beloved brother, Jack Grimm of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Anderson of Altoona; and a brother, Robert Grimm of Mountain Top.
Shirley retired from Holland Brothers Meats as a retail sales and office manager.
Shirley was a devout Christian and formerly served as a deaconess at Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren. Her greatest joys in life were spent in fellowship with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her Christian friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, Pastor Janet Sell, officiant. Committal will be in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
