Ann D. Prostko

April 4, 1919 – Feb. 25, 2017

Ann D. Prostko, 97, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday afternoon at Graystone Manor at Bellmeade.

She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (DeMay) Bianco. She married Edmund R. Prostko on Sept. 10, 1949. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1994, after having shared 44¢ years of marriage.

Surviving are two daughters: Nancy Spielvogle and husband, Paul “Rick,” of Altoona and Mary Ann of Hollidaysburg; a son, Edmund R. and wife, Dianne, of Williamsburg; a granddaughter, Shannon Snyder and husband, Kenneth, of Duncansville; four great-grandchildren: Natasha, Jacob, Hannah and Delilah, all of Duncansville; and two brothers: Joseph and Samuel, both of Pittsburgh.

Ann was a 1937 graduate of a high school in Pittsburgh. She was first employed by Westinghouse, Pittsburgh, and later retired from the deli department of Riverside Market, Duncansville.

Ann was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. She enjoyed family gatherings, eating out, dancing, shopping, flowers and doing yard work.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, by Monsignor Stanley B. Carson. Committal will be in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
