Joseph E. Ingram

March 21, 1956 - Jan. 10, 2017

Joseph E. Ingram, 60, Altoona, was called to heaven on Tuesday at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Altoona, son of Wallace Ingram and Patricia Ruckinger.

Surviving are a daughter, Cylie Ingram of Altoona; a grandson, Rowan McClellan; his mother, Patricia Smith of Altoona; his father, Wallace Ingram (Lois) of Hemet, Calif.; a sister, Rosanne Ingram of Altoona; a brother, David Hoover (Kelly) of Mechanicsburg; five nieces: Abby, Maddy and Bella Hoover and Chandra and Caitlin Ingram; two nephews: Nate Hoover and Mason Ingram; a great-nephew, Hayden Conrad; the mother of his daughter, Carol Pruyn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul Smith.

Joseph was a 1973 graduate of Mountain View High School, Hemet, Calif. He retired from Norfolk Southern with more than 20 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, building things and projects around the house.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at the Stevens Memorial Chapel, Timothy Koontz officiating. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
