Larry A. Lingenfelter, 71, Hollidaysburg, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at his residence.
He was born in East Freedom, son of the late David and Iris (Curfman) Lingenfelter. On July 29, 1964, he married Collette F. Albright at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Newry.
Surviving are his wife with whom he shared 52 years of marriage; four daughters: Cindy Farrell (Douglas) of Gallitzin, Christine Hileman (Ronald) of Roaring Spring, Dawn Bones (Timothy) of Williamsburg and Shelly Stahl (Scott) of Oil City; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Mary Grace Thomas of Olean, N.Y.; and a twin brother, Harry of Dushore.
Larry was a 1962 graduate of Central High School. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served in Vietnam, and he received the Purple Heart. He retired as an inspector for PennDOT after 25 years of service. Then, he was employed with Gwin, Dobson & Foreman Engineering Co. Inc., Altoona.
He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, and was a Penn State football fan.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at the funeral home, Father Allen P. Zeth presiding. Interment with military honors will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
