Dr. William G. Ellien

Dr. William G. Ellien, 61, formerly of Bellwood, died early Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Ga., from complications of CIDP.

He was born in Baltimore, Md., son of the late George Ellien, E. Lorraine Bush and Charles M. Bush.

Surviving are two sons: David Ellien of Cherry Hill, N.J., and Dana Ellien of New Port Richey, Fla.; a daughter, Susan (Justin) Ellien of Skillman, N.J.; and a sister, Patricia (David) Schuppert of LaGrange, Ky.

Bill graduated from Pennsylvania State University and obtained a doctorate of psychiatry from Thomas Jefferson University Medical College in Philadelphia. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps on active duty until 1987, then retired from the reserves in 2002 at the rank of lieutenant colonel.

He was a devoted Catholic and an avid reader. He enjoyed discussing politics and was fond of art, photography, good food and Penn State football. Bill loved his children dearly and will be missed by all.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
