Eleanor (McMullen) Michaels
Eleanor (McMullen) Michaels, 78, Ligonier, passed away Friday at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Ligonier, daughter of the late Leo G. and Annie C. (Grimes) McMullen.
Surviving are three children: Mark and wife, Renee, of Ligonier, Jennifer Smetak and husband, Paul, of Latrobe and Patrick and wife, Jodi, of Ligonier; five grandchildren: Emily, Caitlin, Sarah, Anne and Colin; and a sister, Dorothy Burns of Latrobe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Michaels.
Eleanor attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Ligonier Valley High School in 1954. Prior to retirement, she was employed with the Ligonier Valley School District in the middle school cafeteria and had also worked at the former Meadows Restaurant.
Eleanor was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She volunteered at the Holy Trinity Cafeteria, and she loved her grandchildren and her dogs.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 402 E. Church St., Ligonier. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Father John Fiorska as celebrant. Interment will follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
