Harry Leland “Lee” Curfman, 79, Hollidaysburg, died Friday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of John and Anne (Meier) Curfman. He married Beverly A. Parks on Aug. 27, 1960, in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife, with whom he shared nearly 54 years of marriage; two daughters: Leann Hollen of Hollidaysburg and Lori Aultz and husband, Harry, of Lewistown; two sons: Jeff and wife, Donna, of Altoona and Mike in West Virginia; nine grandchildren: Haley, Emily, Tyler, Hannah, Kristopher, Nichole, Joshua, Allison and Jonas; a great-grandson, Liam; a sister, Patricia Eagler in Georgia; and three brothers: William in Pennsylvania, Norman in North Carolina and Terry of Hollidaysburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David.

Lee was a 1954 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He retired from Butterick Co., Altoona, and was the owner of the former Harry’s Gun Shop in West Loop. He was a past president of the Hollidaysburg Consolidated Sportsmen’s Association and a current member of the West Loop Sportsman’s Club, NRA and Fort Fetter American Legion Post 519. He helped organize and was the first scoutmaster of Cub Scout Troop 56, Frankstown.

Lee enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing and was a second-degree black belt in karate.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, by Pastor Kathy Colebank, followed by military honors. Private interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 810 River Ave., Suite 100, Pittsburgh, PA, 15212.
