Mary Ann Beckwith
Mary Ann Beckwith, 69, Altoona, died Tuesday evening at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Romayne Rebecca (White) Wildes and the late Frank Robert Wildes.
Surviving are her mother; two daughters and a son: Amy Beth Robison, Katie Ann Beckwith and Allan R. Beckwith Jr., all of Altoona; four grandchildren Zoi, Brenden, Tanner and Maddox Beckwith, all of Altoona; two brothers: Charles E. Wildes and wife, Margie, of Centerville, Ohio, and Richard R. Wildes and wife, Johnna, of Sparks, Nev.; four nephews: Tim Wildes, Lance Hutchinson and wife, Rebecca, Mark Wildes and wife, Monique, and Paul Wildes and wife, Bobbi Jo; and two great-nephews: Mark and Bryce Wildes.
She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Allan Beckwith; and a granddaughter, Katlyn Beckwith.
Mary Ann was a 1963 graduate of Mohawk High School, Mount Jackson, and a 1966 graduate of Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as a registered nurse after more than 21 years of service, having been employed at Valley View Nursing Home, the Altoona Hospital and Blair Medical Associates at different times.
Mary Ann was a member of East End United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She loved riding motorcycles and was “Goldwing” chairperson of rides. She was a collector of things.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at East End United Methodist Church, Altoona, with the Rev. Jason Schwartzman officiating. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
