Jennie A. Senkinc, 88, Altoona, formerly of Canonsburg, died Friday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.
She was born in Hamtramck, Mich., daughter of the late Paul and Katherine (Piechnik) Jarosz. She married Max J. Senkinc Sr. on Aug. 5, 1945, in Washington, Pa., and he died Aug. 7, 1995.
Surviving are two children: Suzanne Marie (Leonard) Haduck of Altoona, with whom she resided, and Max J. Jr. (Kathleen) of Washington, Pa.; five grandchildren: Jennifer Haduck, Vincent (Laurie) Haduck, Stephanie Haduck, Karie (Joe) Kovacocy and Matthew (Melanie) Senkinc; and seven great-grandchildren: Alex Haduck, Mattox Senkinc, Striker Senkinc, Macyn Senkinc, Max Kovacocy, Jake Kovacocy and Skye Sabatasse.
Jennie is also survived by two brothers: Joseph and John Jarosz, both of Washington, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth McWee; a grandson, Nickolas Haduck; and a great-grandchild, Maverick Senkinc.
Jennie retired from Joseph Horne Co. in 1986. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Canonsburg, and she also attended St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 8, 2014, at Sollon Funeral Home, 30 E. College St., Canonsburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Canonsburg. Committal rites will be held at St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Masses in her memory.
