Gloria Jean Brubaker

Gloria Jean Brubaker, 71, Altoona, died early Thursday morning at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William B. and Mary M. (Baker) Ferguson. She married Paul Brubaker on Nov. 29, 1969, in Altoona.

Surviving are her husband; a brother, Donald and wife, Kim, of Altoona; a niece, Amy L. McNeal and husband, Andrew, and their son, Japheth, with whom she resided; nieces and nephews: John Ferguson, Kristine Walls, Christopher Ferguson, Rachel Ferguson, Mindi Ferguson, Michael Harbaugh, Jim Harbaugh and Allen and Angel Geist; many great-nieces and great-nephews; three sisters-in-law: Linda Wilt, Janet Ferguson of Portage and Shirley Bowser of Altoona; a brother-in-law, Owen Wilt; and her best friend, Terry Veckov.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Ferguson, in October 2000.

Jean was a graduate of Altoona High School and a member of Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona. She enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with them, and she also enjoyed reading.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona. Friends will also be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at Second Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., the Rev. Robert Ryder officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
