Regina M. ‘Jean’ Morris

Regina M. “Jean” Morris, 84, Duncansville, died Tuesday at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Frederick L. Schiefer and Regina M. (Leahy) Schiefer-Joy. She married Robert W. Morris on May 5, 1948, in Pittsburgh, and he died Nov. 18, 1999.
Surviving are five daughters: Regina Seibel (Harry) of New Alexandria, Janice Settlemyer (Michael) of Altoona, Michele Morris (Teri) of Plantation, Fla., LeAnn Tritz (Richard) of Plantation, Fla., and Melinda Ritchey (Kenneth) of Duncansville; two sons: Dr. Robert A. Morris (Sharon) and Frederick P. Morris (Mary), both of Duncansville; Gary Williams (Bunny) of Duncansville, “a brother to all of us”; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters: Joan Jurnak and Denise Karpuska (Robert), both of Pittsburgh; a brother, Frederick Schiefer (Kaye) in Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by twin daughters: Roberta Jean and Rose Marie; a brother, Ronald Schiefer; and a brother-in-law, Stephen Jurnak.
Jean was a 1947 graduate of a high school in the Philadelphia area. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Newry.
She enjoyed talking about her past with her grandchildren, lounging by the pool, muumuu parties, a good cup of coffee, and especially the time spent with the love of her life, Robert, in Sebastian, Fla.
Jean was known for her witty sense of humor and her love for family.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Newry, by Father Allen Zeth. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homewood at Martinsburg.
