Mark E. Yoder

Mark E. Yoder, 50, of Imler went home to be with the Lord on Saturday at Nason Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lancaster, son of Raymond and Sara (Glick) Yoder. He married Lois S. Hengst on Aug. 17, 1991, in Osterburg.

Surviving are his wife of 22 years; his parents of McVeytown; two sons: Jonathan D. and Lane A., both of Imler; a sister, Rhoda Nolt of McVeytown and husband, Glenn; a brother Arlen “Ernie” Yoder of Mifflintown and wife, Deb; his mother-in-law, Maud Hengst of Osterburg; his sister-in-law, Nelda Hazlett and husband, Steve, of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark was a member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren. He was employed for the last several years at Kennametal, where he was affectionately known as “Bibs.” He also drove bus for A&M Transit and was a self-employed dairy farmer.

Mark was a 1981 graduate of Shippensburg High School.

He was a member of the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed farming, gardening and fishing.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren with Pastor Mark Wyland officiating. Interment will be at Upper Claar Cemetery.
