Cleva A. Weitzel
Cleva A. Weitzel, 86, a resident at The Village at Morrisons Cove, formerly of Roaring Spring, died Thursday evening at the home after a brief illness.
She was born in Martinsburg, daughter of the late Chester and Della (Hummel) Allison. She married Robert C. “Spotty” Weitzel on June 17, 1950. He died July 11, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Dianne Stiffler and husband, Gary, of East Freedom; three grandchildren: Wade Stiffler and wife, Chelsea, of East Freedom, Pamela Ayers and husband, Mark, of Martinsburg and John Stiffler and wife, Julie, of East Freedom; three great-grandchildren: Kirsten Ayers, Madison Ayers and Emma Stiffler; and three siblings: Ruth Guyer of New Enterprise, Melvin Allison and wife, Carolyn, of Walton, Ind., and Margaret Diehl of Duncansville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: John and Dean.
Cleva was a 1947 graduate of Morrison Cove High School and a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Roaring Spring. She was a past member of the Friendship Volunteer Fire Company and the North Woodbury Grange. Cleva enjoyed flowers and crocheting.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Monday, June 23, 2014, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Roaring Spring, the Rev. Kaye Hute officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
Contributions in Cleva’s memory may be given to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or The Village at Morrisons Cove. Arrangements are by Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.
