Judy L. Bowers

Judy L. Bowers, 67, Roaring Spring, died Tuesday morning at Homewood at Martinsburg after an extended illness with cancer.

She was born in New Enterprise, daughter of the late Floyd Sr. and Rosie (Musselman) Frederick. She married Jeffrey W. Bowers on June 8, 1985.

Surviving are her husband; twin sons: Aaron W. and Andrew C., both of Roaring Spring; and five siblings: Betty Ake and husband, James, Jean Frederick, Floyd Frederick Jr. and wife, Linda, and Linda Sue Frederick, all of New Enterprise, and Dorothy Frederick of Roaring Spring.

Judy was a 1964 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School and retired from Nason Hospital in 1985 after 23 years of service. She was a member of Waterside Church of the Brethren, and she enjoyed machine embroidery, quilting, gardening and her family picnics.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 29, 2014, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at Waterside Church of the Brethren by Pastor Michael Benner. Interment will be made in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Judy’s memory may be given to the American Cancer Society, Blair Unit, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
