Janet Marie Baumgartner

Janet Marie Baumgartner, 88, Huntingdon, formerly of Altoona, died Saturday at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, after an extended illness.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles E. and Maude (Mulhollem) Perry. She married Charles M. Baumgartner on June 3, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Rodney C. and wife, Ruth, of Altoona; two grandchildren: Jason (Jaimi) and Jeff (Michele) Baumgartner; two great-grandchildren: Blake and Emery Baumgartner; and a sister, Joyce Robinson of Sinking Valley.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Perry.

Janet was a graduate of Altoona High School and had been a librarian aide for the Altoona Area Public Library. She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon, and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with family.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or viewing. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona, by Father David Arseneault. Committal will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
