Clotilda V. ‘Clara’ Delozier

Clotilda V. “Clara” Delozier, 92, Cresson, died Tuesday at her home.

She was born in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Noe and Adelaide (Nobile) Julian.

Surviving are a brother, Dr. Arthur Julian of Gallitzin; a cousin, Lino Giuliani in Florida; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Connie Julian of Gallitzin, Dolores Julian of Huntingdon Beach, Calif., Beverly (Julian) Henry of Greenwood, Ind., Leo Delozier of Cresson and William (Susan) Delozier of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews of the Julian and Delozier families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on Oct. 3, 2005; two sisters: Lavinia and Mary Rimshaw; and five brothers: Louis, Alfred, Anselm, Anthony “Robert” and Dante.

Clara attended the Marinello School of Beauty Culture in Philadelphia and was a self-employed hairdresser. She was formerly employed at Publix Shirt Factory, Gallitzin. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Cresson, Cresson Senior Citizens, Domino Club and Cresson Railroad Social Club.

Clara enjoyed cooking, traveling and reading and helped care for her late brothers and sisters-in-law before they died.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Cresson, the Rev. Leo Arnone as celebrant. Committal will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
