Angela M. Givler

Angela M. Givler, 49, Tyrone, passed away Saturday at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Roselind and Philip Snyder and George McElwain. Her grandparents were the late LeRoy Haupt Sr. and Marie Haupt and Jesse and Leona Isenberg.

She was blessed with and dearly loved her two sons: John Givler and Christopher Tremmel; they were the light of her life. John and Chris are so thankful for the love they shared with their mom during her precious time on earth. She is also survived by two nieces: Jennifer and Jazmyn Riggleman; and six nephews: Nicholas, Bladen, Nicolas and Joshua Riggleman and Michael Haupt and Anthony Bidoli of Altoona and Tyrone. Angela has two brothers: Randy McElwain of Hollidaysburg and James Haupt (Susan); and a sister, Lisa Snyder (James), of Tyrone.

Angela was employed at Jostens for 10 years until 1990, then continued her education and worked very hard to receive her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Mount Aloysius and worked at Mount Nittany Physicians Group and Mount Nittany Medical Center.

She was a member of Tyrone St. Matthew Church, where she taught Sunday school.

She was a member of the Bellwood Logan Valley Broncs Saddle Club, where she went on trail rides on her horse, Rosie. She enjoyed her dogs: Gracie, Bing and Relic, whom she loved to bits.

Friends will be received for the celebration of Angela’s life on Tuesday, March 13, 2014, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 10 to 11:45 a.m. at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone. There will be a wake Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone, with Fr. Jozef Kovacik as celebrant.

A light has gone out without so much as a flicker, and all we have left is the precious memory of how brightly it burned, and the warmth it gave us. Rest in peace Angela, we all love you and will miss you.

Angela requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602; or to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1105 Cameron Ave., Tyrone, PA 16686.
