Alice Link, 98, Patton, died Tuesday at home.
She was born in St. Augustine, daughter of the late Ralph and Regina (Dietrich) Nagle.
Surviving are eight children: Clyde of Nicktown RD, Mary Louise Little (Mick) of Girard, Harold (Donna Wills) of Burlington, Wis., James (Ruth Wyland McCall) of Loretto, Raymond (Patty Ann Krug) and Clete, both of Patton, Janet Holley (Bill) of Vandergrift and Alma “Jo” Dotts (Randy) of Glen Hope; a daughter-in-law, Aileen (Farabaugh) Link of Loretto; 34 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph (Evelyn Machiarola) of Patton RD; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred “Whitey,” on July 17, 1987; a son, Gerald; a daughter-in-law, Edna (Nelen) Link; a grandson, Donald Link; two great-grandsons: Michael Anderson and Douglas Link; three brothers: Charles “Charlie,” Francis “Frankie” and Paul; and five sisters: Betty Weber, Edna Carl, Catherine “Kate” Link, Bernie Wharton and Jane Rhule.
Alice’s priorities in life were her faith and family, and she enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking. She was a former member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton.
Friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Monday afternoon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Rev. Joseph Fleming as celebrant. Committal will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton.
