JoAnne Grove, 67, Altoona, died Thursday at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born and raised in Newton Hamilton, daughter of the late John F. and Gladys (Pollock) Gaisior.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald E. Grove; four daughters: Bobbi Jo Smith (Dennis) of Jacksonville, Fla., Lori Skaggs (Kevin) of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Stephanie Castle (John) of Altoona and Susan “Nicki” Turner of Deltona, Fla.; a stepson, Jason Grove of Altoona; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, John “Butch” Gaisior Jr. (Margaret) of Mount Union; and two sisters: Mary Margaret “Peggy” Rosensteel (Bill) of San Diego, Calif., and Vicki R. Stewart (Randy) of Newton Hamilton.
JoAnne graduated from Captain Jack High School in Mount Union. She was a homemaker and an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her companion dog, Charlie.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, in Stevens Memorial Chapel by Monsignor Stanley Carson.
The family requests that, in JoAnne’s memory, donations be made to Home Nursing Agency, 201 Chestnut Ave., P.O. Box 352, Altoona, PA 16603.
