Elizabeth P. Stacey

Aug. 29, 1921 – April 9, 2014

Elizabeth Pearl Stacey, 92, rural Williamsburg, went to her heavenly home late Wednesday evening at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, after a brief illness.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Adam W. and Verna M. (Kensinger) Gorman. She married Walter E. Stacey on April 16, 1943, in Winchester, Va., and he passed away Feb. 24, 1980.

Surviving are two daughters: Dorcas M. Biddle of Altoona and Donna J. Hicks and husband, Ray, of rural Williamsburg; a daughter-in-law, Susan Stacey of Altoona; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel E.; a granddaughter, Charlotte M. Biddle; and a son-in-law, Galen W. Biddle.

Elizabeth was a member of Williamsburg Full Gospel Church. She was primarily a homemaker who enjoyed embroidering, quilting, cooking, bird-watching and solving word search puzzles.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 12, 2014, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Williamsburg Full Gospel Church, Pastor Roy E. Kifer officiating. Interment will follow at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.
