James Franklin Johnson
James Franklin Johnson, 52, Altoona, died Saturday at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph M. Johnson III, who preceded him in death in 1993, and Lois M. (Burket) Johnson.
James is survived by his mother; a brother, Joseph M. Johnson IV of Duncansville; several nieces and nephews; and eight godchildren.
James was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Altoona.
He graduated from Altoona High School in 1980.
He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard from 1980 to 1986.
He had worked for Phone Power as an operator.
He was a member of the Cesare Battisti Club and Summit Health Club.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament by Monsignor Robert Mazur. Committal will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
