George ‘Ed’ Glass
George “Ed” Glass, 74, East Freedom, passed away Thursday at home.
He was born in Claysburg, son of the late Samuel and Bessie (Eicher) Glass. He married Annabelle Helsel on April 4, 1959, in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his wife of Claysburg; four sons: Tyke and wife, Barb, Sam and Dan, all of Claysburg, and Dave and wife, Jodi, of Imler; five grandchildren: Tyler, Jared, Sydni, Kari and Kyle; and a sister, Carol Claar and wife, Fred, of Claysburg.
Ed was a 1957 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School. He retired in 2004 as road foreman of Greenfield Township and had previously been employed at Grefco. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Claysburg American Legion. He was active in the Claysburg Little League and helped in the formation of the Claysburg Area Community Park.
Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren play ball.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Claysburg Area Community Park or C-K Cares.
