Florence L. Mignogna

Florence L. Mignogna of Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the home.

She was the daughter of Nicola and Adolarato (Mignogna) Mignogna.

Surviving are a sister, Carmella DeRubeis of Hollidaysburg; a niece, Clara Ann Tromm and husband, Fred; four nephews: Alex DeRubeis and wife, Josephine, Joe DeRubeis and wife, Joy, Nick Mignon and Henry D. “Butch” Mignogna; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: John, Daniel, Joseph and Henry Mignogna.

Florence retired from Warnaco with 43 years of service as a supervisor of the full fashion department and was also employed for five years as a dietary aide at Valley View Home. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Florence enjoyed dancing, spending time with family and friends, and going to the Mount Carmel Festival and DelGrosso’s Italian Heritage Day.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Garvey Manor or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
