John J. ‘Jack’ Gray

John J. “Jack” Gray, 84, Ebensburg, died Thursday at home.

He was born in Bakerton, son of the late James P. and Gertrude (Blum) Gray.

Surviving are his wife, Louella; eight stepchildren; and four siblings: Kenneth and wife, Sara, Yvonne Puskar and husband, Joseph, Fred and wife, Julie, and Karen Bradley.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian; and two brothers: James and Richard.

Jack was a Korean War veteran. He retired from Bethlehem Mine 33, Ebensburg, and worked part time for Ron Davidson’s Chevrolet. He was a member of American Legion Post 363, Ebensburg, and a life member of VFW Post 4963 and LOOM Lodge 681, both of Ebensburg, Carrolltown Fireman’s Club and Bavarian Aid Society, Altoona.

Friends will be received from 2 until the 4 p.m. memorial service Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, the Rev. Dr. Francis Brosius officiating. Military rites will be accorded by VFW and American Legion.
