Carmen Noel, 93, Beaver Valley, Flinton, went home to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday at St. Luke’s Hospice, Bethlehem.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George and Ellen (Young) Hall.
Surviving are four children: Karen Irvine (Gerry) of Coalport, Dianne Kephart (fiance Thomas Burras) of Montague, N.J., Linda Wegrzyn (Edward) of Bath, Pa., and Larry (Kim Lechene) of Flinton; a daughter-in-law, Nancy (Zabinsky) Noel of DuBois; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Noel, on Jan. 28, 1973; a son, Charles “Ed”; a son-in-law, Gene Kephart; and a brother, Edward. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Carmen worked as a tax collector for White Township for a number of years. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Frugality, and she enjoyed reading. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Coalport, where a vigil service will be held Friday afternoon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Frugality, the Rev. Sean Code as celebrant. Committal will be in Beaver Valley Cemetery.
