Alice Brown, 86, Ashville, died Wednesday at home.
She was born in Cramer, daughter of the late John and Elva Mae (Stiles) Wagner. She married Raymond Brown on July 6, 1953, in Ashville.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years; a daughter, Renee Simanski (Doug) of Cresson; three grandchildren: Taylor, Jordan and Kayla; four siblings: Raymond “Pete” (Romaine Simendinger) of Matamoras, twins Anna Judd and Emma Vincent, both of Ashville, and Shirley Kruczewski of La Vale, Md.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: John, Charles and Boyd; and a sister, Mary Shope.
Alice was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, and the church choir.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 3, 2014, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held this afternoon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, the Rev. Sean Code as celebrant. Committal will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
