Violet E. Kline

Violet E. Kline, 86, Hollidaysburg, died Saturday afternoon at her home.

She was born in Bellwood, daughter of the late Frank C. and Abaline (Carothers) Baker. She was twice married, first to Frank “Jake” Lewis in March 1948, and he died Aug. 8, 1965. She then married Richard L. Kline in February 1967, and he died July 3, 2003.

Surviving are two sons: Frank Michael (Billie) Lewis and David W. (Kathleen) Lewis, both of Bellwood; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Addison Holl; and was the last of her immediate family, preceded in death by 15 siblings.

Violet retired as a receptionist/secretary at WFBG Communications, Altoona. She was baptized at the Bellwood Church of the Brethren. She especially enjoyed cooking, collecting dolls, flower gardening and traveling.

A private funeral service was held at the convenience of the family. Interment was made at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.

The family suggests that contributions in Violet’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
