Tim Bruce

Tim Bruce, 42, Coupon Gallitzin Road, Ashville, died Saturday doing what he loved to do, hunting.

He was born in Spangler, son of Jean A. (Biter) Bruce and the late Patrick Joseph Bruce. He married Jenette Chichy on Sept. 21, 2013, in Ashville.

Surviving are his mother of Loretto; his wife; seven children: Alyssa Bruce, Geena Bruce (Josh Nadolsky), Tessa Bruce, Timmy Keefer, Logan Slifko, Kendyl Reddon and Perry Reddon, all at home; four siblings: Ed (Karen Snyder) of Duncansville, Roxane Hogue (Ronald) of Loretto, Russell (Linda Kephart) of Gallitzin and Heidi Skura (Brian) of Lilly; his grandmother, Eleanor “Sherry” Biter of St. Benedict; his father-in-law, Frank Chichy of Altoona; his mother-in-law, Debbie Eckenrode of Gallitzin; several aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Edward “Pino” McCloskey.

Tim worked at Penn State Altoona for 20 years in landscaping. He was a member of the Allegheny Rod and Gun Club, Huntingdon, Mountain Top Sportsmen’s Association, Coupon, and Gallitzin Sportsmen’s Association. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, gardening and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he enjoyed all aspects of agriculture and gardening.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, the Rev. Paul Claycomb officiating. Committal will be at St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto.
