Freda T. Jimick
Freda T. Jimick, 95, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Lilly, daughter of Charles and Amanda (George) Stenger. She married Michael Jimick, who passed away May 17, 1959.
Surviving are five children: Marilyn Leavitt (Douglas) of Shreveport, La., Susan of Phoenixville, Eric (Mary) of Spring City, David of Chalfont and William (Sheree) of Chaddsford; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Catherine Frances; and three sisters: Pearl Hodgeson, Malinda Ritchey and Alberta Solan; and four brothers: Fred, Charles, Alvin “Mike” and Harvey Stenger.
Freda was a graduate of Lilly High School. She was manager of Keith Junior High School cafeteria for more than 15 years.
Freda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and crocheting.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona, by Pastor Eli Hess. Interment will be at Lillydale Cemetery.
