Betty J. Staub

Betty J. Staub, 89, Imler RD, passed away Wednesday at Donahoe Manor, Bedford.

She was born in Claysburg, daughter of the late Egbert B. and Maude G. (Burket) Dodson. She married William J. Staub on Oct. 5, 1946, and he passed away Feb. 20, 2010.

Surviving are a son, Donald W. and wife, Laurie (Vanzant), of Imler RD; a granddaughter, Courtney Wise and husband, William “B” Jr., of Bedford; a sister, Helena “Leanie” Dodson of Roaring Spring; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers: Paul, Melvin “Ink,” James, Darl and Gerald; and a sister, Carrie Johnnie.

Betty attended Claysburg High School and had been employed at Sylvania, A&P and the Claysburg Pizza Shop. She was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed camping and yard sales.

Friends will be received from 2 until the 3 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Interment will be at St. Mark’s Cemetery, King.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given the Humane Society of Bedford County, 1108 Lutzville Road, Everett, PA 15537.
