Dennis E. Gorsuch
Dennis Eugene Gorsuch, 61, Royer, rural Williamsburg, passed away Tuesday afternoon at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in rural Williamsburg, son of the late Carl E. Gorsuch and Dorothy E. (Leonard) Gorsuch Poorman. He married Rita E. Gunnett on June 14, 1975, in Williamsburg.
Surviving are his wife; three sons: Ryan E. and wife, Jennifer, and Joseph A. and fiancee, Amy Brumbaugh, all of Williamsburg, and Mark D. and wife, Nicole, of Boulder, Colo.; three loving grandchildren: Joshua, Rowan and Levada Gorsuch; two brothers: John and wife, Dona, and Richard and wife, Suzanne, all of Williamsburg; and three sisters: Gloria Walgren in California, Suzanne Morgan of Williamsburg and Debra Scott in Arizona.
He is also survived by his stepfather, Richard Poorman of Seaford, Del.; his parents-in-law, Edwin and Elsie Gunnett of Williamsburg; his brother-in-law, Edwin Gunnett Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Williamsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a nephew, Adam Gorsuch; and a brother-in-law, William M. Gunnett.
Denny was a 1970 graduate of Hawthorne High School in Hawthorne, Calif. He retired from Norfolk Southern, Juniata Shop, in 2009 and was previously employed at H.D. Blattenberger Inc., Martinsburg, and Penelec, Williamsburg Power Plant.
Denny was a member of Clappertown CMA Church, rural Williamsburg. He enjoyed working on chainsaws, spending special time with his family, including quality time with his grandchildren, telling a good story and making people laugh.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Clappertown CMA Church, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, Pastor Vaughn Kanagy officiating. Interment will follow at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
