Allan Duayne Parry

Allan Duayne Parry, 84, East Freedom, passed away Friday at home.

He was born in Holbrook, son of the late James Lawrence and Anna Jane (McClellan) Parry. He married Mary Ruggles on Dec. 5, 1953, in Newry.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Linda of East Freedom; a son, David and wife, Jacklyn, of Claysburg; two grandchildren: Rebecca Battaglia and Nicholas Parry; and a great-grandson, Levi David Battaglia.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James “Ted.”

Mr. Parry was a 1947 graduate of Richhill High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He retired in April 1994 from U.S. Municipal Sign Co., Huntingdon, as a supervisor. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, collecting bottles and woodworking, and he was a former member of the Lions Club.

Friends will be received from noon until the 3 p.m. funeral service Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom, Pastor Ronald Bashore officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
