Norma J. Malloy

Norma J. Malloy, 71, Roaring Spring, died unexpectedly Saturday morning at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.

She was daughter of the late William and Mary (Lane) Hummel. She married William C. “Billy” Malloy in 1958 in Roaring Spring, and he died March 18, 2011.

Surviving are two sons: Virgil and Chris Malloy and wife, Debbie, all of Roaring Spring; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four brothers: Thomas Hummel and wife of Centre Hall, Dennis Hummel and wife of Hopewell, Billy Hummel and wife of Indiana and Cyrus Howells and wife of Greensburg.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Imler.

Norma was a member of Harvest Abundant Life Church, Claysburg. She was previously employed at Tri-Tex of Altoona, Quality Manufacturing of Martinsburg and McDonald’s of Duncansville. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, mowing her yard, her church activities and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Harvest Abundant Life Church, Claysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, Pastor Ronald Page officiating. Interment will be made in Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.
