Kenneth Calhoun, 83, Roaring Spring, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Edward and Mary (Cottle) Calhoun. He married Melissa J. Miller on June 5, 1953.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters: Barb E. Igou and husband, Rick, of Roaring Spring, Patti A. Holsinger of Williamsburg, Bev J. Smith and husband, Titus, of Martinsburg and Karen E. Kelly of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin A. Sr.; and an infant sister.
Ken was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was currently working part-time at the Spring Plaza, Roaring Spring, and he had retired from Barkman Oil Co. and had previously worked at Feather Petroleum and Harris Boyer Bakery.
Ken was a member of the Murray-Appleman American Legion Post 147 and Ray-Camp VFW Post 7689, both of Roaring Spring, and the Bonner Sollenberger American Legion Post 456, Williamsburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and socializing with others.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing or service. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made in Steele Cemetery, Yellow Creek.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ken’s memory may be given to the Murray-Appleman American Legion, Roaring Spring.
