Christopher Paul ‘Chris’ Kopac

Christopher Paul “Chris” Kopac, 44, Hollidaysburg, died Tuesday at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., after a brief illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of Paul L. Kopac and Cecelia Bender Orr. He married Kashana R. Saunders on Oct. 18, 2007, in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.

Surviving are his father and wife, Nancy; his mother and husband, Joe; his wife; three children: Rebecca Cecelia, Lewis George and Bender Gabriel; a sister, Marsha J. Lewis of State College; a brother, Michael J. of Hamburg, Germany; his mother-in-law, Rebecca Dalton; and a brother-in-law, Christopher Saunders.

Chris was a graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School and Penn State University. He was the owner of Kopac Inc. and an investor engaged in a number of business activities, including the development, management and ownership of income-producing real estate. He was a partner of Calibre Residential Inc., a company that operates numerous apartments, single-family homes and commercial leases in the Altoona and State College areas.

He also was involved in a number of other business ventures that included partnerships in ProCare Health Systems Inc. and Dairy Queen of Blair County, among others. He had a keen mind for developing business projects and was passionate in his desire to successfully complete each project.

Chris was a member of numerous clubs and organizations. He enjoyed boating, golfing, collecting cars and architectural design and loved playing tennis on the outdoor courts at the ProCare tennis facility. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was especially proud of his wife and three young children. He will be sadly missed by his family and many caring friends.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with interment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Christopher Kopac to the Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 4500 San Pablo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
