Joilet Y. ‘Julie’ Harpster

Joilet Y. “Julie” Harpster, 86, Altoona, passed away Saturday at Valley View Home.

She was born in Emporium, daughter of the late Steven and Frances (DeMarco) Troncone.

Surviving are a daughter, Renee David; three grandchildren: Mandy (Bill) McManus, Ryan (Leigh Ann) David and Justin David; four great-grandchildren: Mason, Conner, Max and RJ; a sister, Jennie Dunning; two brothers: Steven and Jim Troncone; many nieces and nephews; special friends: Bob, June, Ellen and Sandy B.; and special pets: Woody and Nola.

She was preceded in death by six sisters: Grace, Mary, Helen, Rosy, Carm and Lilly.

Julie was a graduate of Emporium High School and became a licensed cosmetologist. She retired from GTE Sylvania. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where she belonged to Mary, Queen of Angels, Secular Franciscan Fraternity.

Julie enjoyed going to Mass and church functions, eating ice cream and watching golf.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Emporium.

In memory of Julie, donations may be made to Home Nursing Agency Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association or Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
