Christine A. ‘Chris’ (Sorichetti) Conway

Christine A. “Chris” (Sorichetti) Conway, 88, a resident of The Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Gallitzin, died Friday at the home.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Alphonse and Margaret (DeCarlo) Sorichetti. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R., on June 29, 1997; sisters: Rose Berardinelli, Lillian Verderame, Elizabeth DeYulis, infant sister, Andonina; and brothers: Patsy and Savory.

She is survived by her children: Patricia, Gallitzin, with whom she resided, William, Hollidaysburg, Richard (Sylvia), Gallitzin, and Dennis (Mary Lou), Gallitzin; grandchildren: Candice (Allen) Lockard, Christa (Mike) Stepanovich, Lindsey (Paul) Eckenrode, Craig, Jonathan (Amy) and Morgan (Joshua) Weisz; great-grandchildren: Allen James “AJ” and Adeline Lockard, Ethan, Ryan, Loren and Megyn Stepanovich, Marcus, Matthew and Kate Eckenrode, Devon Conway, William and Lewis Conway and Anderson Weisz; a sister, Connie Julian, Gallitzin; sisters-in-law: Millie Sorichetti, Philadelphia, and Wilma Conway, West Union, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildre and great-grandchildren and cooking.

She had worked as a supervisor at Publix Shirt Factory.

She was a 1943 graduate of Gallitzin High School.

Chris was a member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Albert Ledoux, celebrant. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held Monday. Committal will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
