Patricia L. Claar

Patricia L. Claar, 73, Duncansville, passed away Sunday at home.

She was born in Newry, daughter of the late Henry and Florence (McGee) Burket. She married Elwood Claar on Aug. 19, 1957, in Winchester, Va.

Surviving are her husband; three sons: Elwood T. Jr. and wife, Deborah, and Scott A. and wife, Debbie, all of Duncansville, and Steven A. and wife, Jackie, of Bellwood; a daughter, Tracey Shoop and husband, Joe, of Hollidaysburg; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Rosemary Heidler of Altoona and Anna Marie Claar of Cleveland, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Henry Burket Jr. and George Burket.

Patty was a 1957 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a homemaker and previously was an LPN at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg and a waitress at Chilcote’s.

Patty was a member of Upper Claar Church of the Brethren and enjoyed cooking, canning, traveling, camping and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Upper Claar Church of the Brethren, Pastor Greg Quintrell officiating. Interment will be at Upper Claar Cemetery.
