Mildred ‘Pink’ Kinney

Mildred “Pink” (Kuny) Kinney, 84, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord Sunday surrounded by her family after an extended illness.

She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late William F. and Mildred (Hinkle) Kuny. She married Thomas E. Kinney on Jan. 17, 1948.

Surviving are her loving husband of 65 years; two daughters: Louisa “Dolly” Hileman and Dianne Churbock and husband, Tom; three grandchildren: Heather (Phil) Stewart, Adam (Amy) Hileman and Christine (Jerry) Palmer; seven great-grandchildren: Brooke and Logan Stewart, Jack, Drew and Ayla Hileman and Lambert and Megan Palmer, to whom she was affectionately known as Gram Garf; a sister, Anna Jean Hazlett; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six brothers: William, Karl, Charles, Richard, Robert and Jack; and two sisters: Marolyn and Carolyn.

Mildred was a 1946 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She worked many years at her parents’ business, Kuny’s Greenhouse in Hollidaysburg. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, crafting, card playing and cake baking.

Friends will be received from 6 until the 8 p.m. memorial service Thursday, April 25, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, the Rev. Gary Dull officiating.
