Louise M. Moore

Louise M. “Weezie” Moore, 89, Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown, formerly of Altoona, died Wednesday in Johnstown after a brief illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William and Eva (Link) Sanders. She married Theodore M. Moore in Altoona, and he died in August 1990.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Krauss (Craig) of Windber; two grandchildren: Melanie Vaccaro of Delmont and Robert Ickes (Amy) of Jacksonville, Fla.; three great-grandchildren: Austin and Savannah Ickes and Valerie Huch; a sister, Catherine Bell of Altoona; a nephew; and several nieces.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: William, Joseph, James and Patrick Sanders; and two sisters: Helen Weicenburg and Violet Matthews.
Louise was a graduate of Altoona High School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII. She retired from Blair County Daycare as a day-care provider after 25 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church by Father David Rizzo. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
