Cynthia Ann (Patton) Harpster
Cynthia Ann (Patton) Harpster, 55, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at her home in Luther, Okla., where she was most happy and comfortable.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of James G. Patton Jr. and Carolyn E. DeLong, both of Tyrone.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Harpster; her daughter, Heather (Paul) Smith; and granddaughter, Aakilah Peterson, all of Luther, Okla. Also surviving are brothers: James G. (Linda) Patton of Altoona and Donald F. (Anna) Patton of Tyrone; six nieces; and two grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Patton; her father, James G. Patton Jr.; and most recently by her beloved mother, Carolyn E. Patton.
Cindy was a member of the Interdenominational Church of Luther, Okla.
She was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School, Class of 1976.
Cindy is most remembered in this area as the receptionist at the Razor’s Edge of Greenwood for many years before she and her husband, Bill, decided to become team drivers for U.S. Express Trucking. They traveled the nation as team drivers for 10 years, enjoying the sights and collecting treasures of the nation as they traveled. After retiring from driving, they settled at their home in Luther in 2005 where she worked at Edmund Health Foods until she could no longer work outside her home.
Cindy was an accomplished jeweler, working with beads and other types of jewelry, and enjoyed the time she spent at her hobby and with her husband, daughter and granddaughter at her home in Oklahoma.
A memorial service commemorating the life of Cynthia Ann Harpster will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jason Guillaume officiating.
