B. Marlene Houser

July 6, 1935 – April 23, 2013

B. Marlene Houser, 77, Bellwood, died Tuesday afternoon at Valley View Home.

She was born in Bellwood, daughter of the late Charles and Gabriel (McCracken) Welch. She married Eugene W. Houser on April 14, 1953, at Olivet Baptist Church, Bellwood, and he died Dec. 24, 2005.

Surviving are a son, Robin E. and wife, Vicky, of Bellwood; a daughter, Karen J. Kustaborder and husband, Kevin, of Bellwood; 14 grandchildren: Scott, Michael and Eric Kustaborder, Melissa Cuevas, Chrissy McCloskey, Dan Houser, Candice Cherry, Sara Young, Annie Beaver and Erika, John, Heather, Ian and Tori Greene; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Timothy P. Sissler and wife, Ann, of Hollidaysburg.

She was preceded in death by two daughters: Cleo E. Young on July 23, 2000, and Kelley Jean Greene on Nov. 12, 2002; and an infant grandson, Shane R. Young.

Marlene retired from the tube production department at Sylvania. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed crafts and playing bingo. She loved her grandchildren and especially enjoyed spending time with them.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, officiated by Rich Maher. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Marlene’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society, Blair Unit, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
