Alberta B. Hearn
Alberta Blanche Hearn, 84, rural Williamsburg, passed away late Wednesday evening at Homewood at Martinsburg after a brief illness.
She was born in Boston, Mass., daughter of the late Cedric A. and Blanche (LaFlamme) McNamara. She married Galen E. “Junior” Hearn on Feb. 5, 1948, in Waltham, Mass., and he passed away on July 1, 1997.
Surviving are three sons: William and wife, Christine, of Boyertown, Robert and wife, Kathy, of rural Williamsburg and Steven of Wedgefield, S.C.; four daughters: Nancy of Macungie, Priscilla Isenberg and husband, Gordon, of Huntingdon, Cynthia Rice and husband, Dr. Patrick, of Hollidaysburg and Hilda Brnich and husband, Richard, of Dillsburg; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard, formerly of Vancouver, Canada.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Norman; two half brothers: Clifford Hoffman and Eugene Hoffman; and a half sister, Charlotte Grover.
Alberta was a longtime active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the parish council and St. Joseph’s Women’s Guild. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Our Lady of the Alleghenies Court 1755, Hollidaysburg, and the Williamsburg Civic Club.
Alberta was a homemaker who enjoyed flowers, bird-watching, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be recited at 7:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Father Aron M. Maghsoudi officiating. A committal service will follow at Henry’s Lutheran Cemetery at Yellow Springs, rural Williamsburg.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be given to the local charity of your choice.
