Alan L. Wallace

Alan L. Wallace, 55, Greenwood, died unexpectedly Sunday in New Jersey.

He was born in Altoona, son of Cleova J. (Fortney) Wallace and the late Glenn E. Wallace. He married Laura R. Flegal on April 14, 1984, at the Church of God, Martinsburg.

Surviving are his wife; his mother of Bellwood; three brothers: Terry (Nancy) of Martinsburg, Randy of Huntingdon and Shawn (Tammie) of Altoona; and a sister, Sherry Lenning of Roaring Spring. He is also survived by his five canine friends: David, Brittany, Ruth, Zoe and Leah.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2010.

Alan was a 1975 graduate of Northern Bedford High School, where he served as secretary of the high school Future Farmers of America. He was employed as a truck driver for Smith Transport, Roaring Spring, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and showing his horse, Sandy.

Alan’s favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 40:31.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Hillside Community Church, Bellwood, Pastor John Poe officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.

The family suggests that contributions in Alan’s memory be made to the American Brittany Rescue, 731 Ridgehaven Drive, La Habra, CA 90631.
